So many new tools, so little time…
It was always plenty good to have a one page Capability Statement in hand when meeting with a potential buyer. For twenty years, this statement was met with a positive response and appreciation if it was a professional and comprehensive document.
Now, the Capability Statement is outdated and BORING to the buyer. It’s time for us to learn a new skill, Infographics. I’ve spent months trying to become even slightly competent with this new media.
It takes a lot of thought and an ability to visualize and conceptualize using the data from a Capability Statement and turning it into a graphic reproduction. It also must be easily interpreted by a purchaser in no more than 1-2 minutes who knows nothing about your firm.
It’s a challenge for those of us graphically impaired but I believe it’s here to stay. In fact, I believe it will only become more creative and complex as newer tools become available.
Practice your skills now to be able to compete on a level playing field later. And SMILE all the while…RIGHT?
