HONOLULU, Hawaii— (BusinessWire)– Candice Phillips, CEO of Vantage Point Consulting will be an exhibitor at Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) upcoming National Conference & Business Fair. It is the first time a WBENC Certified, Hawaii-based, Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) will exhibit at the prestigious WBENC National Conference and Business Fair, which will be held on June 20-22, 2017 at Las Vegas, Nevada.
Vantage Point Consulting a Kailua, Hawaii based company was founded in 2010 and became WBENC-Certified in 2016. Vantage Point provides Certification Application Preparation for a variety of programs. “Certification can be a really grueling process, especially for time-strapped business owners” says Vantage Point’s founder, Candi Phillips. “The application can be as long as 500 pages.” In addition, about 63% of self-prepared applications are denied.
When asked about the importance of certification and how it can help a woman-owned business, Vantage Point owner Candi Phillips responded by saying, “I previously used my WBENC Certification to build a multi-million dollar business which I sold in 2007.” “WBENC Certification was the key to landing many Fortune 500 contracts, it’s an extraordinary organization offering immense opportunities to WBE’s.”
Candi Phillips says that being the first exhibitor from Hawaii is part of her long-term plan to increase Diversity Certifications for Hawaii Businesses including minority, women, veteran and disabled-owned businesses. She says Hawaii is severely underrepresented in the Fortune 500 contracting arena and she will use this unique opportunity to inspire decision makers to offer more contracts to Hawaii companies.
She urges women in business who are not part of WBENC to learn more about this organization and how it can ultimately help them to grow their business toward success. Visit http://www.conf.wbenc.org to learn more about WBENC and to register to attend the upcoming conference.
